Artifact 2: Graphic Organizers
The rationale for including this artifact is that it demonstrates development of professional competencies C7 (take into account student diversity) and C9 (be actively involved as a member of the school team). I utilized graphic organizers throughout my stage, but this one on the right is one that I created and had students use for every reading or creative writing assignment that was done (in all my stages) to help them visualize plot and write better summaries. Students who were struggling in English tended to benefit from these the most (C7), but I have also used it as an informal formative assessment to make sure students were understanding the readings we were doing in class (C5). This was a quick and easy way for me to see what students might be misunderstanding. Lastly, the other graphic organizers on this page were shared with me by our resource teacher, demonstrating my close professional connection with her (C9). Note they are only blurry because I had to convert them to images for this website.
