About
I am Shira Azoulay, student, artist and aspiring teacher.
I am currently a student at McGill university in Montreal, Canada.
In 2019, I graduated with great distinction and obtained a B.A. in Psychology from Concordia University but realized, while writing my thesis, that my real passion has always been teaching. I am currently studying to become a full time high school English teacher, and hopefully an art and psychology teacher as well. I have always been in love with literature, and I hope that when I teach, this love will be conveyed to my future students. My passion for literature developed into a passion for artwork when my high school English teacher, who inspired me to go into teaching, asked us to make creative projects to illustrate what we took away from pieces of literature. This had a huge effect on me and largely shaped the person I am today.
My goals are not solely related to teaching and education. I am also an artist, and this has always been a large part of my identity. I hope to bring these aspects of myself into the classroom and to inspire students the way I was inspired by my teachers.
